What we expect

These Community Guidelines outline the behavior that is expected from you and the rest of the AftrLife community. By continuing to use the AftrLife app, website or any other associated services (collectively known as the “Service”), you are agreeing with and accepting these Community Guidelines in their entirety. These Community Guidelines applies to all elements of the Service. Please ensure that you read these Community Guidelines, the Terms & Conditions and the Privacy Policy carefully. These are collectively known as the “Terms”.

Your acceptance of these Terms

By using the Service, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, then please do not use the Service. Your continued use of the Service following the posting of changes to these Terms will be deemed as your acceptance of those changes. If you are accessing and using the Service on behalf of a company (such as your employer) or another legal entity, then you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that company or other legal entity to these Terms. In that case, “you” and “your” will refer to that company or other legal entity.

Changes to the Terms and/or Service

AftrLife has the discretion to update the Terms at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of the Terms & Conditions page. It is important that you frequently review the Terms for any changes to stay informed. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review the Terms periodically to become aware of modifications. As our Service is constantly evolving over time, we may change or discontinue all or any part of the Service, at any time and without notice, at our sole discretion.

Terms & Conditions

Please refer to the Terms & Conditions for more information on the expected use of the Service.

Privacy Policy

Please refer to the Privacy Policy for more information on how we collect, use and disclose the information we collect from our Users.

Respect & Decency

All members of the community and wider society should be treated with dignity regardless of their race, age, sex, religion, political beliefs, or any other immutable attribute or self-assigned designation.

We expect members of the AftrLife community to act maturely and in a decent manner that is respectful to other members of the community and wider society.

Personal Responsibility

As an individual, you are responsible for your own actions, and you will be held accountable for any content that you add to the AftrLife platform, along with any related metadata such as notes, titles, descriptions, thumbnails, hashtags, comments, etc.

You are not responsible for the actions of others on the site; however, you are expected to consider that others may be influenced and/or incited by the content you produce.

Content creators are obligated to ensure that they do not add content which violates the Prohibited Content or Platform Misuse guidelines.

“If you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all” is our official commenting policy and any comments that a reasonable person would consider to be “not nice” are fair game for deletion. Comments are moderated by the content creator’s Next of Kin(s), who have the responsibility and permission do delete any comments from non-Next of Kins that they feel do not belong.

All members of the AftrLife community have a responsibility to each other to follow these guidelines.

Compliance with Law

You own and are legally responsible for all the content you add to the AftrLife platform.

We expect members of the AftrLife community to comply with their local laws pertaining to online conduct, communication and content. AftrLife’s Guidelines Enforcement process respects applicable laws pertaining to online communications.

Before sharing content on AftrLife, please be sure you have the right to do so. We expect you to respect copyrights, trademarks, and other legal rights of third parties. Remember to reference applicable fair use laws, as appropriate, when adding content to the AftrLife platform. See our Copyright Policy to learn how we handle reports involving alleged copyright infringement.

When requested to do so by competent authorities, we may apply geoblocking filters on specific content that is considered illegal within a particular country. These filters will be applied so that they do not impact viewing of the content in any country where the content is still deemed legal.

Inappropriate Content

Content that you would be embarrassed to watch with your parents and/or children present is probably not appropriate to post publicly on AftrLife. If you believe that the content you are posting is not appropriate for all audiences, but does not fall into our definition of Prohibited Content then you should post it with the privacy setting turned on.

If a User flags content as inappropriate for public consumption and we concur with that assessment then we will restrict its visibility by turning on the privacy setting for that particular message, which will remove the content from everyone’s feed except for the specific Users it was addressed to. If this happens multiple times to the same account then we may restrict the account, which includes all content on its timeline.
